What To Expect

Planning a Visit (COVID 19)

Our world, country and community are living in fluid times. COVID 19 and its variants have made its impact on every industry, small business, schools and churches. The Houghton Lake United Methodist Church currently has no mandates enforcing our lives together. Having said that, we encourage all to exercise the greatest care of themselves and others. The Bible says it clearly, "Love God and love thy neighbor as yourself." If you are not feeling well, we encourage you to stay home. If you desire, please feel comfortable wearing a mask during any part of your time inside of our building but masks are not required. We keep masks available in our lobby if you forget one. Ask any of our ushers and they will assist you.

What you can expect in worship

Our worship service is more traditional in music, led by piano or organ, and yet very much alive and inspiring. The ages of most who attend is over 50 but we still have a staffed nursery (infant to 3 years old) and make available Kids bags for ages 4 to 4th grade to assist you in keeping them occupied while in worship. Our pastor preaches a dynamic, God-centered message, that will instruct you in God's will and ways. Those who attend are informal in attire. You will feel comfortable with a dress, suit with tie, shorts, blue jeans or a flannel shirt.
